Animal Kingdom

Every known animal species in the world, in one app

What is it?

How many kinds of lions are there? What does a kingfisher sound like? And which animals were seen near you this week? Animal Kingdom opens up the whole animal kingdom: over a million species, from the big groups down to the smallest subspecies. Click through the tree of life, read an animal's story, listen to recordings and test yourself with the photo quiz.

For everyone who is curious about animals: children preparing a school talk, families before a day at the zoo, birdwatchers, teachers and anyone who simply wants to know what lives in their garden.

Your data stays yours

The information comes from open nature databases: iNaturalist, GBIF and Wikipedia. If you choose "Animals near you", your location is only used for that search.
