Talk it through together

A conversation guide to work with your result, with someone you trust or with your group

You take a test on your own, but you grow together. With one person you trust, or with your whole group. For a group: let everyone take the same test beforehand, at home and at rest. Bring the result (printed or on your phone) and use this guide for an evening of about an hour and a half.

Choose a test

With someone you trust

You do not have to wait for a group. A friend, your partner, a mentor or someone from your church is enough. Send your result (copy the link below your result), or ask the other person to take the test too. Meet for an hour, over a coffee or on a walk.

  1. What do you recognise of me in this result, and what not?
  2. Where do you see my strength, even when I do not see it myself?
  3. What would be a small, achievable step for me?
  4. Will you ask me in a month how that step is going?

Close by praying for each other. Write down your step, or put it in the action plan of the Leadership room.

With your group

The evening plan

10 minutes
Welcome and prayer. Read a short Bible passage together that fits the test.
15 minutes
Icebreaker: everyone names their result in one sentence and whether they recognise themselves in it.
40 minutes
Conversation in pairs or threes, using the questions for the test. Then share briefly in the whole group.
15 minutes
Everyone chooses one small step for the coming month and writes it down.
10 minutes
Pray in pairs for each other's step. Agree when you will ask each other about it.

To start with

  • What did you recognise straight away in your result, and what surprised you?
  • Which answer did you find hardest to choose?
  • Would someone who knows you well say the same about you?

A few agreements

  • What is shared in the group stays in the group.
  • A result is a mirror, not a label. Nobody is pinned down by it.
  • Listen first, only give advice when asked.
  • Sharing is allowed, not required. Everyone decides how far they go.

Questions per test

How do you hear God's voice?
  • In which way do you hear God most often? Tell about a concrete moment.
  • Which way is still unknown territory for you, and what holds you back?
  • How can we as a group help each other to listen better?
John 10:27
Test an impression
  • Bring (if you like) an impression you have tested. What helped you most?
  • Why is it good to test impressions together rather than alone?
  • What do you do when an impression does not come true?
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21
Royal leadership, Integral leadership, Your leadership style
  • Which side of leadership comes naturally to you, and which takes effort?
  • Where do you see your pitfall in your family, work or church?
  • Who in this group is strong where you are weak? What can you learn from each other?
Mark 10:43-45
What kind of man are you?, What kind of father are you?, Mask or freedom?
  • Where do you honestly get your worth from as a man?
  • Which mask do you wear most often, and with whom can you take it off?
  • What do you want to pass on to your children (or younger men)?
Mark 1:11
