From EveryNation

Volume 3 · From Every Nation

Afterword

A Mohegan who kept seeking his own people. A Tongan who wanted to live among the stars. An inventor who said: look at me. A young man on a plantation who would not take off his scapular. An Aztec who started his own church. An iron son who fell and stood up again. A father who gave the killer of his sons a home. A bishop who prayed for the murderers of his son.

With this third volume, the book holds twenty-four lives. They come from Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania. They differed in language, in church and in the way they prayed. A few of them fell and stood up again. What they shared was that they stayed, even when it cost them.

There are many more. Behind every name in this book stand others whom no one wrote down. They too belong to that great multitude.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues. (Revelation 7:9)
