One to one

Walking coaching

Talking is easier outside than across a table. My usual route is a loop through the woods near 't Harde. We simply start walking and see where we end up and what we come across.

Most people come at a moment when they are stuck: a question, a choice, or the longing to learn to hear God's voice better. I look at what you need in your situation.

  • Duration: about 1.5 hours per walk
  • Where: in the woods near 't Harde, or at a place that suits you
  • For whom: anyone who wants to grow personally, believer or seeker
  • No programme: we have one conversation, and you decide whether there will be a second one, and when

Talks on hearing God's voice

From the Bible and from my own story, I talk about how God still speaks today, how you recognise what comes from Him, and how you test it. We dive straight in and bring theory and practice together, often practice first and theory afterwards. People are encouraged and receive confirmation of what God is already doing.

Video call

Exploring your impression together

Have you received something and don't really know what to do with it? In a video call we look at it together: what could this mean, how do you test it against the Bible, and what is a good next step? Without anyone telling you what to believe.

  • Duration: about 45 minutes
  • Where: online, from your own home
  • For whom: anyone in the Netherlands and beyond

My story

Where it all began

In 2001 I could no longer see a way forward in life. At that lowest point I heard a voice:

“Wim, there is something worth living for.”

I chose to follow Him, and God's voice became the thread running through my life. Out of that story came (F)Luister Nederland: a foundation that helps people grow in hearing God's voice, with a free magazine, an online platform, books and gatherings.

The foundation

Hearing God's voice together and helping others hear it, across church walls. A small foundation with a steady core of volunteers. Most of the work is done without pay.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a Christian to take part?

No. Walking coaching and video calls are open to anyone who is searching or wants to grow personally. I work from the Bible myself and I don't hide that, but I won't preach and nobody has to believe anything to be welcome.

What if I receive or hear nothing at all?

That is very recognisable; it was like that for me for a long time too. God often speaks more subtly than we expect. That is exactly what we look at together: where might you already have noticed something without recognising it?

What does it cost?

We discuss that in the free introductory call, depending on what you are looking for. For talks in churches and groups I am happy to make a suitable proposal. Money should never be the reason not to come; say so if that is an issue.

What does an introductory call look like?

A conversation of about 20 minutes, by phone or video. You tell me what you are looking for, I tell you what I can offer, and then you decide for yourself whether you want to continue. No obligations.

Are you a therapist or counsellor?

No. I am a coach and conversation partner from my faith and my own experience. For heavier problems I refer people to professional help, and sometimes the two work well side by side.

Is it a programme?

No. I don't do programmes. We have one conversation, and you decide whether there will be a second one, and when.

What if it gets hard during a walk?

I look at what you need in that situation. If I can't hear it from you, I decide myself what is best.

Do you pass on what I share?

No. What is shared in a conversation stays between us.

Do you also speak to young people?

Yes. But I don't adapt myself, so think carefully about whether you want to invite me.

Can it be in English?

Yes, conversations and talks can also be in English.

How far will you travel for a talk?

I have no travel limit. I have spoken in churches, groups and house groups all over the Netherlands.
